Wilkins Norwood Appraisal Associates, Inc. is a consulting firm in upstate South Carolina that provides valuation services and litigation support to corporations, financial institutions, law firms, private individuals, various government agencies and other real estate professionals. Joel Norwood, JD, MAI is the president of the firm. He has over 20 years of experience in real estate valuation and is a member of the Appraisal Institute.
We have been in the real estate industry since 1949. Wilkins Norwood, the first MAI appraiser north of Columbia, SC, founded Wilkins Norwood & Co., Inc. in 1949, and later founded Wilkins Norwood Appraisal Associates, Inc. in 1994. Wilkins Norwood was commonly called the "grandfather of all appraisers" in South Carolina because so many appraisers in this state can trace their heritage to his training and employment. Wilkins trained his son, Joel Norwood, to carry on the business.
